What happens

Each little scene is one feeding and has the same two steps. Tibino walks up, gets down to the animal's height and holds out the food — seeds for the chick, a bottle of milk for the lamb, a carrot for the bunny. Then the animal eats, makes its real sound once, and Tibino says something kind. It starts in the farmyard, moves on to the pond and the woods, then to the zoo, the ice and the snow: hay for the pony, watermelon for the elephant calf, a fish for the penguin chick, clams for the walrus pup, carrots for the reindeer calf. At the end Dusty the lamb and the chick stand with Tibino in the farmyard at dusk, and everyone is full.

Good for

Children from about one to four, and quiet moments — after lunch, before a nap. Only two figures are ever on screen, the food is large and easy to see, and nothing happens that needs following.

What a child picks up

Thirty-two young animals, what each of them eats, and the sound each one makes. Many of the foods are words a toddler uses at the table too: carrot, peas, apple, banana, pear, cucumber.
