The Missing Duckling
Quackers cannot find her little duckling. Tibino and Pip call peep-peep across the whole farm — and the answer comes from the one place nobody thought to look.

A search with a part in it for the child. Tibino teaches one soft call, peep-peep, and asks for it again at every stop: the barn, the pond, the garden. Woolly, Daisy and Storm have all seen nothing. The duckling had been asleep in Woolly's wool the whole time, which is why his back felt warm.
Children who like to join in out loud. There are four places to call at and always the same sound, so a two-year-old has caught on by the second stop.
