Farm Hide and Seek

Tibino covers his eyes and the whole farm hides. He finds every one of them by listening — a moo behind the hay, an oink by the fence, a peep in a flower pot.

What happens

The same small round, twelve times over: Tibino asks who is making a sound, the sound comes back, and the animal steps out and says its name. Daisy moos behind the hay, Rosie oinks at the fence, Sunny crows, Quackers quacks at the pond, Woolly baas in the straw, and the smaller ones — Milo by the milk cans, Storm under the wheelbarrow, Pip in a flower pot — take longer to hear. At the end the animals go looking for Tibino, and he lets himself be found.

Good for

Children who shout at the screen. The question comes before the answer every single time, so there is a gap to fill, and by the third animal a two-year-old knows exactly when it is their turn.

What a child picks up

Twelve farm animal sounds and the names that go with them, and that you can find something by listening rather than looking.
